Learn how NanoO2 air purifiers work on cleaning your home's air of
allergy triggers
 |
10 to 15% of people suffer from some form
of pet allergy, Cat allergies are twice as common as dog allergies. People are not
allergic to pet fur, it's the allergens from dander or other elements that float through
the air or cling to fur, clothing, carpeting, or other household surfaces. The NANO O2™
can not only reduce the allergens in your air, but also on household surfaces. |
 |
Mold, dust, viruses, bacteria and more are
in the air around you right now. Over 99% of particulate matter is invisible to the naked
eye and can easily infiltrate your respiratory system. The average cubic foot of untreated
indoor air contains 20 million particles. If you could see them, you would clean out these
particles. The NANO O2™ is here to clean the ones you can't!

Allergy triggers

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are gases
released from certain household products that can cause eye, nose, and throat irritation.
Due to insulation, levels of VOCs are up to 10 times higher indoors than outdoors. VOCs
are emitted by thousands of household prodcuts like paints, cleaning supplies, pesticides,
building materials and furnishings, even craft materials like glue and markers. Elevated
concentrations of VOCs can persist in the air long after the product is used. The NANO O2™
can help you in the fight agaist these irritants. |

Indoor
Air Quality and Allergies Cause & Effect.
For those
who suffer from them, allergies can be a very serious issue. Symptoms can range
from sneezing, a runny or stuffy nose, scratchy throat, allergic shinners (dark
circles under the eyes caused by increased blood flow to the sinuses), coughing,
and itchy watery eyes, to eczema, or even asthma. In children, infants, and the
elderly, asthma caused by allergies can be particularly serious. For some
individuals, the symptoms are of a less specific nature, including frequent
headaches, fatigue, and even snoring. In fact, many individuals suffer from
symptoms for years without ever knowing they have an allergy - and that there is
a simple solution that will relieve their chronic symptoms.
Allergies
have many causes, including secondhand smoke, general pollution, dust mites,
pollen, pet dander, and molds. Allergies can also be caused by sensitivities to
one or more of several thousand chemicals and even perfumes which all trigger
symptoms. Plug in a NanoO2 unit and let the ions break down the allergens in
your air.
Allergies to Cats, Dogs, and Other Animals (Dander)
Cigarette / Secondhand
Smoke
Animal allergies.
Allergy to animal dander, hair, saliva and urine is a common problem with
household pets. Typical pets causing airborne allergy triggers include dogs,
cats and birds; although allergies to other pets, such as rabbits, guinea pigs,
hamsters, rats, mice, horses and ferrets, is becoming more common. Allergy to
reptiles and amphibians is possible, but less common since these animals do not
produce large amounts of airborne dander. Indoor pets typically cause the most
problems, since the hair and dander is present in large amounts in the air, on
furniture and on the carpeting. A pet that is isolated to one area of the house
may still cause significant problems for an person with allergic rhinitis
because the dander can be airborne and move to any part of the home through the
ventilation system...

The quality of the air we breathe, both indoors and
out, has a great impact on lung health. Fragile lung tissue is easily damaged by
pollutants in the air, resulting in increased risk of asthma and allergies,
chronic bronchitis, lung cancer and other respiratory diseases.
Air pollution contributes to lung disease, including
respiratory tract infections, asthma, and lung cancer. Lung disease claims close
to 335,000 lives in America every year and is the third leading cause of death
in the United States. Over the last decade, the death rate for lung disease has
risen faster than for almost any other major disease.
Poor indoor
air quality can cause or contribute to the development of chronic respiratory
diseases such as asthma and hypersensitivity pneumonitis. In addition, it can
cause headaches, dry eyes, nasal congestion, nausea and fatigue. People who
already have respiratory diseases or allergies are at greater risk.
Biological pollutants, including molds, bacteria, viruses, pollen, dust mites,
and animal dander promote poor indoor air quality and may be a major cause of
days lost from work and school. In office buildings, heating, cooling, and
ventilation systems are frequent sources of biological substances that are
inhaled, leading to breathing problems.
There are three main types of air pollution:
-
Particulates (air pollutants that have mass) like dust,
dander, pollen, and cigarette smoke
-
Volatile Organic Compounds (V.O.C.s) which are gases from
chemicals that are released into the air by various household materials and
liquids
-
Bio-burden: is the amount of biological material in the air,
living or dead. Dead material can cause allergic reactions, living material
can cause allergic reactions, and some can cause disease.
Dust mites and cockroaches. These creatures, present in
many homes, are a major cause of year-round indoor allergies. Prevention of
exposure to these allergens is usually at least partially successful. Dust mites
are microscopic creatures that live in our bedding, pillows and mattresses and
eat human dead skin flakes and synthetic materials. Many people can be allergic
to dust mite droppings.
Cockroaches are typically present in the kitchen, bathrooms and
garage, where food and water sources are available. Removing garbage from the
kitchen, keeping pet food in sealed containers, frequent cleaning of counters
and kitchen floors, and using bait traps in cabinets and behind refrigerators
can be helpful in eliminating cockroaches. Dust mites and cockroaches both
thrive in humid climates, and efforts to de-humidify (with the use of a
de-humidifier and fixing water leaks), as well as following the recommendations
outlined above, can be successful in reducing the amounts of these allergens in
the home.
Indoor molds. Usually the biggest source of indoor mold
exposure is the outdoor air. However, in humid environments, such as kitchens,
bathrooms and basements, mold may grow and produce large amounts of indoor
spores, leading to an increase in allergic rhinitis symptoms. If mold or mildew
is seen in the home, a diluted (5 to 10%) bleach solution can be used to clean
and kill the mold. Ensure water leaks are fixed, and consider measures to
increase ventilation in the moist areas, or use a de-humidifier to decrease mold
growth. In areas of water damage or substantial mold growth, removal of the
contaminated materials may be required. All NanoO2 air purifiers release ions
that neutralize or destroy alergens, mold, pet danders, bacteria and other
airborne pollutants.
